As it gets closer to Valentine's I've been thinking about...

And the ways I can show/communicate it to:
- family
- co-workers
-and more.

What I am drawn to are these verses:

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:9-10

Putting others before myself.
Letting go of my past hurts.
Showing love in action.
Helping others where they may need help.
Sending a note to share how much they are loved and appreciated.
Offering my time or listening ear.

Everybody longs to know that they are:
*cared for*

Only in knowing how much Christ loves me and gave Himself for me,
will I be able to love another.

I'm seeking the Author of the most perfect Love.
For ways to to show those I love...

Not just for a season,
Not just for a Holiday,
but for each new day.

What ways do you like to show those in your life Love?
I'd love to hear!

Have a Lovely Day,

  1. I'm on this thought pattern with you, too. One comment you made that jumped out at me was "letting go of past hurts" - I'm at a place in some relationships at church where I'm really struggling to do that- but that's love. Thanks for the great thoughts.

  2. What great things you are saying! Feeling love is so important to all of us. I think it is the little things that most people wouldn't notice are the best ways to show love. My friend and coworker has been having a lot of problems with her back. She is younger than me, single, and has no children. She has been putting off surgery until she has kids, but that may not be possible now. Sorry TMI. Anyway, I sent her a text telling her, "I love you and want you to be well." She said those few words meant so much to her. Sometimes it is a thank you or a smile. A hug or a wink. The little things of life let us know we are loved.

  3. With my boys, I so passionately want them to feel loved NO MATTER WHAT...and I think a big part of that is that they feel they belong. Always.

So I say to them, "what is the one thing you can always know for sure?" and they know to answer,
    "WE BELONG!"

I hope they always remember that.

Just a random example that came to mind :)

P.S.I'm not logged in to Blogger--just google, so all this will say is Heather with no link to a blog or anything. I'm explaining that only because it confuses people most of the time. heh.

  4. Hi Beth,
"Letting go of past hurts" is something God is working in me to do too. It's not easy, but I'm *hoping* and trusting by His Grace and prayer that He will show me ways to love those that have hurt me and those I have knowingly or unknowingly hurt. Wishing you God's best in this journey.
    Hugs and prayers,

  5. Natasha, Hi!
It's so true that it's the little things. Thank you's, smiles, hugs can go so far! You have inspired me to reach out more in those small ways. To call or text those I love and say, "I love you." Three very powerful words to turn a day around.

I hope your day is well friend!

  6. Hi Heather,
I love that, "we belong." So, so powerful as well. I love how each of you are sharing something so different yet so powerful. I have no doubt your boys will always remember that. <3

That is something I pray my students know and believe too!

    So beautiful!

  7. I do mu best to show each person in my life love in the way they need it...which is a challenge, but well worth it! :)

  8. Hi Jessica,
I hope you are doing well! Thank you for your thoughts on how you show love to others. I seem to easily want to love in the ways that speak love to me, sometimes, often, forgetting how others hear love. That would be where grace would come in. Have a wonderful weekend!
