Truth Speaks {A Journey of Providence Day 2}

Words spoken from another, Lives changed forever...
That is what happens the next day.
Speaks truth and holds me tight.

They are words (a verse) that will accompany me through,
some of the hardest trials I have faced yet.
{broken relationship, serious illness of others, …}

Words breathed from a loving, all-powerful God who knows
how the story will end.

Words that will carry me on this detour of what I thought was going to be.

And with it...

God places on my heart the story of Ruth...

Another woman who found herself on a detour,
many detours, of sorts.

The loss of a husband.
Traveling through the dessert with the threat of attacks.
Working laboriously in the fields.

But like Ruth’s life, our life is not without Hope, a plan.
God’s plan for a future and a Hope.
{Jer. 29:11}

Bible Gateways Commentary on Esther says this about God’s Providence, “The providence of God rules over the smallest concerns of man...Not a sparrow falls to the ground without Him.”

So, where do you find yourself?
Are you on a detour right now?
Is the road desolate, lonely, abandoned?
If so...

Keep Traveling.

Keep traveling down that road because what Satan has meant for evil,
God means for good.

Jesus has offered His life on the cross in order that we may have life, a future, a hope.
We can go to Him to get the truth, find wisdom.
Even when it doesn’t make sense, even when on the detours of life.

Just exactly what did the times of Ruth look like.

 I'd love it if you come along with me on this Journey of Providence.
I am joining 5 other writers, kindred friends, who are sharing the journeys they are on.
September 5th-16th we will share the words God has laid upon our hearts and breathed into our souls. Each one different, yet weaving our lives together.

If you like, you may grab the Journey button over on the sidebar to share with others. Just right click on the button and copy link location.

  1. Thank you for this. I often feel as though I live a life of detours. This has given me hope. Thank you.

  2. Awww...thank you Heather! God is Hope!! Praying for you friend. :)

  3. Honestly, I feel like I am sent on detours every day. Spiritual ones, emotional ones, detours of purpose... Sometimes it's hard to remember that God is in, perhaps is even orchestrating, the detours. This is a wonderful, poetic reminder.

  4. Keep traveling. Keep traveling. We walk by faith. Thank you for this reminder!

  5. Thank You Christine. It is hard to remember that God is in it at times. I love how Ruth is a reminder that He is there and provides. Even in Esther, when the King could not sleep. God is good.

  6. Thank You Erika! Keep traveling indeed! I don't know what is around the corner, but God does. ;)

  7. Keep traveling...love this. So many detours but we need to keep going to see His plan for us. Thank you for this!

  8. Thank You Susan! It is definitely a journey, one of constant growth and learning. Have a wonderful day friend!
